I was taken to this restaurant for my birthday this year by my husband. There were nine of us and no one had been here before except my daughter. We all had a good time and the food was excellant and so was the service. It was a fun and entertaining evening.

There are two sides when you enter the restaurant the Benihana grill side and the more relaxed sit-down sushi side (which I prefer).

Sometimes the wait can be a bit much but that is just because the place is amazing and it is always packed!

I've been going to this place since they first opened in 2005. It was great then and it is great now.


If you are even a bit hesitant about trying this place out, don't be.... One would be a fool to take any of the previous negative comments to heart. Especially since the one is from some kid in high school and the other from an individual with very poor grammar skills......

if you cant take fun and cant handle a good time, then you need to find another resturant because saganos is a fun filled environment full of entertainment. In my personal opinion i love sagano's their food and sevice was amazing they were very friendly also. I didn' have a problem those people who seem to need to get their underwear out of a wad and have a good time. )

Steve-O is our favorite chef! Long wait times but very, very good! Hard to get to the bar for a drink while you wait - a waitress for people waiting would be nice.

I have enjoyed the food and service at Sagano's several times, as I eat out often I know that there are good times to go to a eatery, often I try to go when it is not so busy. One has to keep in mind that these are real people that work there and they may have bad days but my experiences have all been good. I have taken parties of up to 10 people and as small as my wife and I. The food is very tasty and I always leave content. So Saganos keep up the good work.

I have been to sagano on more than one occasion and each time it was a poor one our chef was a real jerk(steve-o). The help was horrific and very unprofessional,our server couldnt seem to get anything rite and she thought everything she did was so great (body language says it all) but my personal opinion this girl needs to go back to dennys (Amber). This resturaunt is by far over rated. I complained to the manager and she listened but it was clear that she sided with her circus act of a staff, very very poor treatment for the customer in this sad excuse of a resturaunt. DO NOT EAT AT SAGANO JAPANESE BISTRO!

I absolutely LOVE this place!!! I've had 4 or 5 different chefs and they were all great(especially Wayne)!! I would definately recommend this place to anyone.

Ate there for my birthday the other day. It was fabulous! Great entertainment AND food, and I thought the price was well worth it!

I am so over this place. The management and waitstaff are horrible! Last time I was there my friends and I had to wait over an hour just to receive our bill. On another occasion I attempted to make reservations for my birthday, the manager would not accomodate my party because it was Homecoming weekend, then after I told the manager I was taking my bussiness else where, she told me that 15 more would show up in my place.
They will never receive my, or my friends, business again.

MY FRIEND TOOK ME TO SAGANOS A FEW MONTHS AGO...I AM VERY PICKY AND DIDNT REALLY WANT TO GO..BUT I THOUGHT..I WILL GO WITH AN OPEN MIND AND JUST DEAL WITH IT!! OH MY GOSH!! I LOVED IT!! IT IS AWESOME!! THE STAFF AND THE FOOD ARE GREAT!!I HAVE BEEN BACK 4 TIMES SINCE!IT IS DEFINATLY OUR FAVORITE PLACE TO EAT IN FLINT!! I HAVE GONE WITH FRIENDS..AND OTHER TIMES TOOK THE KIDS AND IT IS GREAT!! WE HAVE A FAVORITE CHEF...IM NOT SURE IF I AM SUPPOSED TO SAY HIS NAME....BUT ITS STEVEO ASK FOR HIM IF YOU GO THERE..TELL HIM ROBIN SENT YA!! ITS GREAT!! AND BY THE WAY...THEY HAVE CHICKEN AND STEAK, SO IF YOUR NOT INTO SUSHI AND STUFF LIKE THAT DONT WORRY!!FOR THE AMOUNT OF FOOD YOU GET..THE PRICES ARE REASONABLE AT LUNCH TIME!! ENJOY!!--ROBIN

I Think Sagano's is fabulous !!! The Food is VERY good and the atmostphere is wonderfull as well. I have been there many times and each time is a wonderfull experiance at a reasonable price. I would recommend to anyone !!!

Sagano's is our family's favorite restaurant in Flint! The food is delicious and the staff is entertaining, even if the routine is similar each time. I would recommend this Japanese Steakhouse to anyone looking for good food and entertainment.

I think Sagano's is fabulous. I really can't believe it's just located in a plaza in Flint!!!! I've been there twice now for birthday parties. We have been lucky to get 2 GREAT grillers! They were very interactive and funny....and the birthday celebration they put on is fanatastic....lap dances and everything ) There is a worker there that is beautiful too....not bad at all!

We have always enjoyed our esperience on the grill side of the restaurant, the staff seems to have a great time, which makes it a ot of fun for guest. Great for children, they enjoy the show!

The management at Saganos is horrible. We have taken large and small groups into both sides of the restaurant and our experiences are continually getting worse. If there was another sushi place in Flint I would go elsewhere, and I won't return after my experience last night with the owner. They seated half our party while we waited for another grill to open, and then seated the other half when 3 people who were holding 10 seats finally left. They stuck three people at our table and didn't leave enough for our party. They tell us we cant order special sushi roles as we always do on weekends. They messed up our orders which we brought the waitress' attention to, and then the owner literally yells at us when we argue about the bill when it has sushi on it that we never received. Other times I have seen the owner berate staff in front of customers, they have used cleaning solutions in the kitchen that we could smell and burned our noses out on the floor. If another sushi place was to open in Flint I think they would immediately succeed. The last thing about saganos is that you should not expect your food quickly or to be seated quickly especially if you are eating on the grill side. I must admit the food is good, but I personally look for quality service to complete the experience.

Saganos is very good food and the price seems to fit the experience. The hibachi routines are all pretty much the same so if you visit more than once don't expect too much. Staff is well trained and always available. You do have to wait until there are at least 6 to 8 people seated at your grill before they will start but that is usually not an issue, the place fills up easily. I recommend the Filet and Scallops. Griller cuts the filet for you (perfectly) and the scallops start out about the size of a tennis ball. The flavors of each dish meld so well together - you will never forget the taste!
